One of my best memories in childhood was playing the game "Passing the gift" in school. It starts with a kind word or deed(gift) from one child to another. The child who receives it then spreads the gift as a kind word or deed to another child. This continues until every child in class gives and receives the gift. This game had such an impact on me and I would say, helped me in shaping who I am today. The game is both about gratitude and paying it forward. Whilst it is vital to express our gratitude to the person for gifts(words or deeds) we received, I think it is equally important to pay it forward to someone else in need. It can spark a cycle of generosity, kindness, and compassion. The ways I pay it forward is among other things through mentoring and pro bono coaching. How would you like to pay it forward? Let us start the cycle of paying it forward!
