Battery Low! How often do your digital devices show this sign? When my mobile or laptop display this signal, I run scurrying in search of the charger. I know that if I leave it as it is, my device will not switch on quickly and I have to put my work on hold till it gets fully charged. When I think about this as an analogy for life, the body and mind keep giving signals when our energy is low. When there is no rest or recovery period, then it dramatically reduces our resilience, and we start manifesting with health problems. Disturbed sleep can decrease productivity and in turn, impede your success. What kept you going all along can be a cause for burnout. Many people misconstrue spending time on social media or watching the news as a form of relaxation. If it causes stress from mental arousal, then it would still drain your battery. So, how do you move to a recovery period? You could make a list of 3-5 activities that allows you to be completely work-free. What helps me completely unwind is turning off the notifications in my devices, reading a book that I love, listening to pleasant, rejuvenating music, movies meditation or a short nap.
